December 2, above Niagara Falls, Ontario, a third-winter

in lower North   America. The only previous record of SLATY-BACKED GULL
in   the BOS region was in 1992.

With Niagara River birders attention re-directed to the   Falls area,
recent reports of the RAZORBILL at the mouth of   the river were
November 30 and December 1 and 2; off   Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
and Fort Niagara in New York.   December 3, an adult BLACK-HEADED GULL
at Fort Niagara. Also   on the 3rd, at the rocks near the Old Fort Erie

plants on the lower river. And, a late RUBY-CR. KINGLET   November 29
on the Three Sisters Islands off Goat Island.

December 7, a male HARLEQUIN DUCK again on the east side of   Dunkirk
Harbor, also a KILLDEER at the harbor this week.

From Lake Ontario, November 30, a CACKLING GOOSE with CANADA   GEESE
at Barker Park in Somerset.

At feeders this week - COMMON GRACKLE in South Wales and in   Wilson,
17 species included a late FOX SPARROW plus 2 WHITE-
CR. SPARROWS and a PURPLE FINCH.

Other reports this week - in the Town of Ellery in   Chautauqua
County, a NORTHERN SHRIKE and 3 resident COMMON   RAVENS at Pickett and
Slide Roads. Another NORTHERN SHRIKE   still at Lotus Point Road in
Brant. Adult BALD EAGLE at the   mouth of Silver Creek. And in
