Observers: Bob Pettit, Claude Radley, Dan Lumm, Dave Stimac, Fred Urie,
                  Jim McCoy, Tim Smart

Visitors:
Northerly winds brought out the hearty souls today. Visitors included:
Chris Saladin of Cleveland OH, Yvonne and Katie Sleight (sister and niece
of Dan Lumm) from MI, Dave Stimac and his friends Jim and Kelly from MI,
and Caroline Staddon from Harrow ON.

Weather:
Overcast and chilly best describes the day. Winds were Northerly all day
with speeds of 5 mph on average. Temperatures were from 3.9 degrees C up
to 5.1 degrees C. The combination made for a cool day on the tower.

Raptor Observations:
Highlights today were the 2 Golden Eagles, one immature, and one sub-adult
bird. When our resident Bald Eagle pair spotted the first Golden Eagle
moving through, they decided to give an "escort" out of their territory.
This happened just shortly after the resident pair stirred up the ducks in
the marsh, and one Eagle decided to go after a Northern Harrier who had a
meal in tow. The Eagle won, of course...making the Harrier drop his kill,
and then went into a dramatic dive on the Harrier anyway. This morning we
saw a large movement of Northern Harriers through mainly between 9 am and
11 am. Many of these birds were adult male.

Non-raptor Observations:
Highlights here include a flock of 35 Eastern Blue Birds in the 9 o'clock
hour, several groups of Tundra Swans throughout the day, American Crows
moving in a few large flocks.
