Heavier cloud cover pushed into the area in late afternoon as a quickly advancing front approached from the west. Winds were moderate from the east, becoming gustier in the afternoon. Raptor Observations: There was a steady if not particularly heavy movement of birds today beginning early in the day and lasting until mid afternoon. Typical of east dominated winds; birds were spread over a very broad front although many birds were enjoyed as they flew directly overhead. Highlighting the day were excellent views of a juvenile Northern Goshawk, light-morph Rough-legged Hawk and 4 or 5 of the dozen Golden Eagles seen during the day. Non-raptor Observations: Vast numbers of crows were seen migrating today. Strings of them were seen even during the pre-count walkabout and at no time during the day were they absent from the sky. Certainly overall numbers were in the tens of thousands. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
