There were variable amounts of cumulous clouds for much of the day although there was a period of time in mid afternoon when almost no clouds were present. Winds were brisk and strong blowing generally from the northeast. Raptor Observations: With the considerable wind early in the day, the flight was active by the second hour of the count. Vulture movement was particularly busy and even though there were a couple of lulls during the day, the flight was steady and quite heavy for most of the day, continuing into the early evening. Some of the busiest hours were the last few of the day, very typical of a large TV flight. Some of the early kettles of vultures held some good numbers of Broad-wings and overall the showing for that species was very good for this late day. Non-raptor Observations: This was the first day that I noted any Common Loons migrating with two or three seen in total. A single Trumpeter Swan was among the Mutes at the game area. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
