Hi weekend birders:
since nobody has mentioned the Willet today, I would like to confirm that the
adult non-breeding eastern subspecies of the Willet is still on the
shallows/mud flats of Rattray marsh as of 12:30 pm on Friday Sept.8.
For those who need Willet for Toronto/Hamilton geographical lists, it is worth
cheking it out. As well, the mud flats may attract other 'goodies' to be aware.

Weather:
Today saw the continuation of the warm southerly flow of the last few days.
Skies were clear, if a bit hazy, with a bit of cumulous cloud building up
during the afternoon. Winds were light southwest throughout the day,
increasing somewhat in the afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
The flight was very much similar to yesterday with Ospreys making a decent
showing but with little else moving.

Non-raptor Observations:
As stagnate as the hawk flight was today, other birds moved in very good
numbers most notably Purple Martins and Barn Swallows with lesser numbers
of Chimney Swifts seen. An Olive-sided Flycatcher was seen briefly on its
annual perch in a snag to the west of the count area at the boat launch.
