For those of you considering the beach today, I ventured down to the beach from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. to the Lakeland Community Centre. The wind is strong from the Northeast. During this time there was at least one Long-tailed Jaeger and three Parasitic Jaegers with a few more Jaeger sp. out at a distance . Also seen were 2 Willets, Sanderling and Common Terns.
Directions : To reach Van Wagner's Road, take the Centennial Parkway exit from the QEW Niagara and proceed north to Van Wagner's Road. The Lakeland Centre Tower is one to two hundred metres west of Hutch's Restaurant which is west of Centennial. Note: If coming from the 403 or QEW to the QEW Niagara it is backed up due to construction all the way across the skyway bridge. Taking Eastport Drive to VanWagners Beach Road would be the best route to go today. Cheers, Cheryl Edgecombe
