Hi Birders, Today, Saturday 22 July, at about 12:50 PM I observed a Whimbrel on the Ottawa River at the sand bar at "Ottawa beach", which is at the playground at the east end of Andrew Haydon Park. I observed the bird both airborne and on the sand bar at the river's edge. It was still on the ground when I left about 1:05 PM.
Peter Campbell Ottawa, Ontario Andrew Haydon Park is on Carling Avenue in the west end of Ottawa. The playground entrance is just west of Bayshore Drive and east of Holly Acres Road.
