I arrived at Wylie Rd. this morning at 7:30 and heard no Henslow's Sparrow. I
spent most of the next 3 hours in the area where I saw it last Tuesday and
didn't hear or see the bird. A fellow I talked to later had been there at 6 am
and thought he heard it twice south of the area where it has been seen but that
was all. Three other people I talked to during the day did not see or hear it
either. I left about 5:30 pm. A from Montreal was going to try again at 7:30
pm.

Several adult Eastern Kingbirds feeding young. Several boxes with bluebirds
being fed. Savannah and Song Sparrows carrying food. Lots of Eastern
Meadowlark families seen. Lots of Grasshopper Sparrows around. I have still
to see and hear Clay-coloured Sparrows. Grackles flocking up. About 18 young
Tree Swallows sitting on one section of fence. Many birds taking advantage of
the puddles for bathing.

In the field on the right side before the Sedge Wren Marsh two Common
Nighthawks flew all afternoon and landed in trees periodically.

Lots of butterflies including: Monarch, Viceroys, White Admirals, Mourning
Cloaks, and more.

Take 48 Hwy East to Kirkfield. Take Road 6 left in the middle of Kirkfield to
the locks. Drive past the locks to McNamara Rd. Turn right and then left onto
Wylie Rd.

Just to let folks know that the Avocet was seen at the Grand Bend lagoons at
7:00pm last evening. Very nice bird and I would have to agree with Maris...
Looks like a female... Had the pleasure of watching it feed, fly and
call... It was in the 3rd cell the whole time I was there....

Directions courtesy of Maris Apse....
GBSL are SE of town on Mollard Line - coming out of GB on HC#81 turn right
on Mollard Line - lagoons are on right OR from Greenway Road (east of
Hwy#21) turn left on Mollard Line - lagoons are on left.
