Just to try to add to the completeness of the record, Terrie Smith and I saw one singing male Henslow's Sparrow on Wylie Road between 7:30 and 8:15 p.m. on Friday.

We also had the good fortune to see a family group of 3 Loggerhead Shrikes in the area. Other usuals like Upland Sandpiper were noted during our short visit.

Directions: Go north about 2 km from the Kirkfield Lift Lock to McNamee
Road on your right. Go 200 m to Wylie Road on left. The Henslow's is in the
field west of Wylie Road about 200 m north of intersection just past a
little ridge with scattered trees. Best to go early in the morning (sun at
back and less wind) or late afternoon if cloudy. It sings often and its
short song "tse-Slick" carries well, but is somewhat ventriloquial. Scan
for it with binoculars then use a scope for a better view.

Good luck,
