Birders,
At 1900 the Curlew Sandpiper was present in the first cell at
the Townsend Sewage Lagoons. Upon viewing the lagoon the bird was not seen,
but after 30 minutes of waiting it flew in with a flock of Dunlin. Other
birds present were 2 Wilson's Phalarope and a relatively high count of 20-25
White-rumped Sandpipers. The Red-necked Phalarope was not seen.
Townsend Lagoons are n. of Highway 3 on RR# 69. Go 1.4 km to first left
after railway tracks and follow it .5 km to entrance on the right.
Good Birding,
