A mixture of early spring migrants and new arrivals describes the situation
at the Park. Dark-eyed Juncos are still seen regularly while both species
of Oriole arrived overnight. A couple of Fox Sparrows lingered near the
tip, one singing briefly, while a Blackburnian Warbler was a first for the
spring for many. Overall however, birding remains on the quiet side.
Highlights reported this morning included Lesser Black-backed Gull and
Little Gulls at the Tip. Also present in the vicinity were Wood Thrush,
Vesper Sparrow, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Pine Warbler, Brown Thrasher and
Eastern Towhee. Reported elsewhere in the Park was Orange-crowned Warbler,
House Wren, Black-throated Blue Warbler and Yellow Warbler.

The Purple Sandpiper was still present at Wheatley Harbour at first light,
as was a single Willet.

The Hooded Warbler reported from the west beach south of the old
Administration building yesterday afternoon has not been reported yet. A
male Prairie Warbler was reported yesterday afternoon between Northwest
Beach and Sanctuary. Slightly further south was a Grasshopper Sparrow and
Sedge Wren.
