East winds continue to hamper any noticeable influx of birds to the Park.
Most of the birds reported yesterday continue to be seen this morning with
relatively few new arrivals. The male Cerulean Warbler reported yesterday
was seen again at the north end of the train loop by the tip. A possible
Sedge Wren played hide-and-seek in the vicinity. Along the west beach near
the tip all three species of Scoter gave excellent views as they swam close
to shore in the calm waters. At the tip itself, eight species of gulls were
present, with Iceland , Glaucous, Lesser Black-backed, and Little Gulls
being most noteworthy. A single Common Tern was also reported. Elsewhere in
the Park, highlights included Grasshopper Sparrow and Indigo Bunting (West
Beach Trail), Eastern Kingbird and Pine Warbler (Tip area), Blank-and-white
Warbler and Black-throated Green Warbler (Woodland Nature Trail), Northern
Waterthrush (Tilden's Woods) and Gray Catbird. Last night, a male Hooded
Warbler gave wonderful views along the west beach opposite the old
Administration Building location. Lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers continue
to move through with Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Blue-gray Gnatcatchers mixed
in occasionally.

Outside the Park, the Purple Sandpiper was still present at Wheatley
Harbour first thing this morning. Several White-crowned Sparrows were also
heard singing this morning. Reported yesterday evening was a male Eurasian
Wigeon at the Hillman Shorebird Pond, a Common Moorhen at Leebo Creek
(north end of Hillman Marsh) and a Black Tern at Wheatley Harbour.

Winds are expected to shift to the SE and hopefully to the SW during the
next few days. Perhaps this change will usher in a few new birds.
