Hi Ontbirders

Today (Sunday) at 10:00- 10:45, there was a Ross's Goose in an agricultural
field which was spotted by Tony Beck and his birding group on Sarsfield Rd.
between French Hill and Regimbauld Rd. It was in a flock of about 3 500 Canada
Geese. The bird was uncooperative as it frequently hid behind stubble and
Canada Geese.

Directions: From Highway 17 take the Trim Rd. Exit and head South. Turn left
(East) on Innes Rd. Then turn right (South) onto Frank Kenny Rd. until French
Hill Rd. and then turn left (East). Then turn right on Sarsfield Rd.

The cold damp weekend has not been kind to birders in the Toronto area. =
There may be as many 5 Wild Turkeys along Hall's Rd.--they could be in =
the fields or in the wooded areas or at the north pathway entrance. This =
Sunday, Apr.23 morning a good number of Yellow-rumped Warblers, =
Ruby-crowned Kinglets and White-throated Sparrows were noted.
The highlights in Thickson's Woods during the morning were 1 Least =
Flycatcher (captured on Gord Gallant's camera), a Blue-headed Vireo, =
many R-c Kinglets and W-t Sparrows, 2 Brown Thrashers, several Hermit =
Thrushes, several Winter Wrens, Y-r Warblers and 2 Pine Warblers. A =
number of us walked about trying to differentiate among the songs of the =
Chipping Sparrow, Junco and Pine Warbler.

Hall's Rd. is the first street east of Lakeridge Rd., accessed from =
Victoria St. in southwest Whitby.
Thickson's Woods is near the lakefront at the south end of Thickson Rd. =
in southeast Whitby.

I've been asked by PIBO (Pelee Island Bird Observatory) to pass on this =
information. Apologies for the tardiness of the report.

"PIBO staff reported a singing Yellow-throated Warbler at the tip of =
Fish Point at approximately 8:30am on April 21st. Also seen was the =
first Nashville Warbler of the season."
