As of about 10:30 this morning, the people looking for the Black-necked
Stilts at Brighton had NOT yet found them today. Since no one seems to
have posted a subsequent sighting, I thought it worthwhile to mention
this, if for no other reason than to prompt anyone who did see them
today to let the public know.
The Eurasian Wigeon that has been around Presqu'ile Bay for some time
could be seen this morning at about 8:30 by scoping the most distant
ducks off 38 Bayshore Road.
Directions to the stilts as per Doug McRae: From Hwy 401, go south on
Cty. Rd. 30 (the Brighton exit) and follow south into town. Go south
through the two traffic lights, over the railway tracks (from this
point the ponds are 1.4 km further on). Soon after crossing the
tracks the main road begins a long swing to the left, and the ponds
are on the right just before the road straightens out.
Directions to Presqu'ile Park: follow the signs from Brighton and stay
on the main road alongside the bay after entering the Park.
