Drove down after work. The birds were easily seen from 6:30 until I left at 7:45.
Lots of ducks. Green-winged and Blue-winged Teal, American Widgeon, Northern Shoveler, Lesser Scaup, Mallard, Black Duck, Wood Duck, Bufflehead. Heard Virginia Rail and saw Purple Martins and Tree Swallows overhead. Directions from Doug McRae's earlier posting: >From Hwy. 401 take Cty. Rd. 30 south to Brighton. Go south through the two traffic lights, over the railway tracks, and as you near the Lake the road (Prince Edward St. at this point) swings left. The ponds are on the south (right) side just as you complete the turn. There is a viewing deck and the birds are about 100-150m away, about 45 degrees to the left if you are looking straight out from the deck. John Stirrat Scarborough
