I have had several good sightings over the past twenty four hours along country roads west of Owen Sound.
This afternoon a Loggerhead Shrike was located north of Tara on Arran Concession 10, just east of Bruce Road 10. A very white Snowy Owl was in the same field. A second snowy owl continues to reside in a field one km east of Tara on Bruce Road 5. Four sandhill cranes were in flight over Derby Concession 6 just east of Grey Road 3. A pair of Bluebirds were just south of the Lincoln Park trailer park on Derby Sideroad 3, 2 km south of Grey Road 18. Wild turkeys were in some scrub by a pasture on Derby Concession 6 just west of Derby Sideroad 5 (south from Squire and Grey Road 18). Directions: Tara is located at the junction of Bruce Road 10 and Bruce Road 5. Arran Concession 10 is the first road north of Tara on Bruce Road 10. Derby Concession 6 is the first east-west road south of Grey Road 18 (also called the Owen Sound bypass) and runs from Lincoln Park westward to Grey Road 3. David Ellingwood Tara, Ontario
