This evening, around 6pm, I was traveling on Rte 2, west of Cornwall. As I approached the eastern end of the Long Sault Parkway and watched as thousands of Canada Geese landed in the open area of water to the left of the causeway. I did see 1 pari of Hooded Mergansers in with them but it was getting too dark to see any other species, if they were there.
This is the largest gathering of the geese I have seen this year.
