Saw a Bald Eagle and a Red-tailed Hawk at Foley Mountain near Westport today at about 3pm. Both were soaring on strong winds off of the cliffs. Directions: Take Hwy 10 north of Westport (road goes on to Perth) and turn right into Foley Mountain Conservation Area at the top of the steep hill soon after leaving Westport. Drive into first parking area on right side of road (about 500 metres). You should buy a parking sticker for $5 (we have a year-round pass for Rideau Conservation areas). Walk southwest from the parking area along the wide pathway to the Spy Rock lookout. This gives you a good view of the lake, the town and the sky above the cliffs.
