Today while doing a biweekly bird survey for Ontario Power Generation at their Nanticoke plant a winter plumaged adult/2nd winter bird was found in a restricted area along the water intake canal. Obervation was from about 50 feet looking down on the bird sitting on a ledge by the canal. While access is very restricted there is a good possibility that the bird could be seen flying around from the east side of the plant. Very few gulls are ever seen from the west side of the plant. Also of note a flock of 19 Great Blue Herons were tucked in the little cove by the east side of the plant. The plant is located on Lake Erie just east and south of the village of Jarvis.

Good birding
