This afternoon, we decided to take a drive along Hwy. 33 heading west towards Bath, Ontario. Along the route, we noticed numerous small flocks of COMMON GOLDENEYES just off the shore. Of particular interest was a male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER that was diving for food about 75 feet off the shore in Bath at Finkle's Shore Park.

If you are travelling from Toronto or Montreal along the 401, turn off at the Wilton Road/County Road 4 exit (593)* -- this exit is just west of Kingston. Turn south on the Wilton Road/County Road 4 and follow it all the way down to Lake Ontario. At the lake, turn right on Hwy 33 and head west towards Bath.

Cheers, Peg
