Today, December 4th, a Detroit Audubon field trip to Niagara, lead
by Alan Wormington, went to the Ajax Rotary Park on Lake Ontario to
look for the previously reported Pacific Loon. We dipped on that
bird but we had a gray phased Gyrfalcon fly over our heads as we
stood near the pavilion close to the shoreline. This was at 2:15
p.m. The bird was flying west along the shoreline. We tried finding
the bird on the outskirts of the nearby sewage treatment facility but
could not come up with the bird again.
Directions: Exit 401 at Westney Road in Ajax. Go south past Bayley
Street to the second traffic light. Turn right on Lake Driveway.
Follow this to Rotary Park.
