I missed it in the morning but saw a male Barrow's Goldeneye at 2:30 pm 100 m offshore slightly west (towards Grays Road) of the parkette.

They were best viewed from a blocked paved road behind the houses that run east from the driveway of a medical establishment at the north end of Sutherland. What used to be called Lyndhurst Lodge is now, I think, the Hugh MacMillan Centre. A flock of chickadees and a red-breasted nuthatch joined them, and they disappeared. About 10 minutes later, I saw one bluebird pecking on the road 50 ft. west of the tree it had been in. It then flew up to a fir tree, one of 10 or so that line the north side of the road. Directions: Bayview is the second main intersection east of Yonge St. in NE central Toronto. From Bayview and Eglinton Ave. E, go north on Bayview three blocks to Glenvale. Turn right (east) and go to the fifth block, Sutherland, and park near the intersection. Walk north (left) on Sutherland a very short block to the gates of MacMillan Centre. The barred gate and the road will be on your right.
