Hi,

Thought I'd kick-off my winter list with a stroll around Toronto Islands today. Generally it was a bit quiet but there were one or two highlights. The best bird was a Lincoln's Sparrow which played hide-and-seek amongst the rocks on the shore side of the washrooms at Gibraltar Point. Also, there was a Horned Grebe offshore from the pier. The feeder in the nature sanctuary held a couple of White-throated Sparrows whilst the boardwalk heading towards Wards hosted a Winter Wren and a pair of vocal Carolina Wrens. There are huge numbers of Long-tailed Ducks everywhere, can't go anywhere without hearing them!

Toronto Islands can be reached via the ferry at the foot of Bay Street. Remember that you can only reach Hanlans via ferry on weekdays...

Cheers
