Total observation time: 3 hours

Official Counter: Betty Learmouth

Observers: Dorothy McLeer, Kathy Evans

Weather:
Today's winds were south with light flurries in the early morning
developing into snow by late morning.

Raptor Observations:
Despite poor conditions, hawk watchers were surprised to see a total of
five raptors pass over Big Creek Marsh.

Non-raptor Observations:
Several flocks of American Crows and blackbirds were observed. A flock of
15 Hooded Mergansers kept returning to the trout pond's open water with
the male Belted Kingfisher perched in various locations at the pond. Tree
Sparrows and a Brown Creeper were seen near the tower.

The edges of Big Creek Marsh are now frozen with the many Mallards resting
on open water in the middle.

Predictions:
More cold weather is predicted for tomorrow with winds gusting from the
west with flurries.
