Weather:
Today saw a change in the weather pattern finally from the last number of
days of south winds. Mainly overcast conditions prevailed throughout the
day with moderate to fairly strong northeast winds.

Raptor Observations:
This was the first day that the Point Mouillee site was utilized as most of
the flight was crossing the corner of the lake before heading inland and to
the southwest. There was a slow and gradual buildup of the flight during
the morning and early afternoon possibly due to the persistence of the
cloud cover. The last several hours of the count were by far the most
productive accounting for two thirds of the day’s movement with some
sizable kettles of Broad-wings coming through along with the best push of
Kestrels seen so far this season. Today also brought the first
Red-shouldered Hawk of the fall.

Non-raptor Observations:

Predictions:
Tomorrow's forecast is for rain throughout much of the day. This should set
up ideal conditons for very good flights on the 17th and 18th.
