This has been another busy week here in the HSA.  Warblers continue to
filter through in numbers and thrushes are right behind them.  A variety of
species can be seen in the HSA in various spots particularly along the
lakeshore.

This week at Shoreacres:  Ruby-throated Hummingbird (many), Least
Flycatcher, Red-breasted and White Breasted Nuthatch, Brown Thrasher, Brown
Creeper, Swainson's Thrush, Golden-crowned Kinglet, House Wren, Warbling,
Philadelphia, Red-eyed Vireo, Tennessee, Nashville, Northern Parula,
Chestnut-sided, Magnolia, Black-throated Blue, Yellow-rumped, Blackburnian,
Palm, Bay-breasted, Blackpoll, Black-and-white, Wilson's Warbler, American
Redstart, Ovenbird, Common Yellowthroat, a large movement of White-throated
Sparrows, a Rusty Blackbird and many Common Grackles reported in the week.

Shell Park along Lakeshore Road in Oakville had a similar mix this week with
all of the species above plus numbers of Northern Flickers, Olive-sided,
Yellow-bellied and  Traills Flycatcher,  Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Rose-breasted
Grosbeak and a female CERULEAN WARBLER observed on Saturday adding to the
pot pourri of birds mentioned above.

At Fifty Point, many White-throated Sparrows, Gray-cheeked Thrush and
Northern Waterthrush were reported this week along with a mix of warbler
species.

This morning, an observer from Dundas heard many thrushes flying overhead.
Veeries, Swainson's Thrushes and Gray-cheeked Thrushes were all heard in the
wee hours of the morning.  Also today a tremendous Monarch Butterfly flight
was observed along the lake.

At Rattray Marsh in Mississauga, a Great Egret and Common Nighthawks were
seen in the week.

day at VanWagner's Beach with strong Northeast winds forecast.
