Monday, Aug 29, 2005: This morning there were 4 (possibly 6) Buff-breasted 
Sandpipers at the flats north of Oliphant. Also seen 8 Baird's Sandpipers, 25 
Black Black-bellied and 3 Golden- Plovers, lots of Semipalmated Plovers, 1 
Semipalmated Sandpiper.
 
Directions:
Hwy 6 north of Wiarton go west on Bruce Road 13 to Lake Huron, then go north on 
Shoreline Ave to the intersection of Spry Lake Road. You can park here and walk 
the mud flats heading north. Or you can drive from the intersection further 
north on Shoreline Ave to the house with the green roof and then walk out to 
the mudflats.

Sunday August 28 at 5 p.m. Bob and Cheryl Mound observed 2 buff-breasted =
sandpipers among the shorebirds close to #4 observation point at Owen =
Point at Presqu'ile Provincial Park.

Directions: Presqu'ile Provincial Park: exit south off the 401 at =
Brighton onto Highway 30 and follow Park Signs to Ontario Street Park =
entrance gate.  Owen Point is on clearly marked trail off Beach 4.
