Today we found 31 Black Terns in the Omemee Sewage Lagoons. About 60% were
immature being fed by adults, often on the wing. Also seen of interest were
Wood Duck, Common Merganser and a Solitary Sandpiper.

Directions - The village of Omemee is on Highway #7 between Lindsay and
Peterborough. Turn north at the traffic light beside the bank. Proceed one
concession along Sturgeon Rd to Beaver Rd. Turn west and go about
three-quarters of a kilometer. Just over the hill on the right is a
driveway/entrance that overlooks the lagoons. Park and scope. The lagoons
are locked but the main pond is clearly visible from this location. Enjoy!
