Sent from an email address not subscribed to Ontbirds. The post is lacking
in details I do not have. Krider's Hawk is a 'pale form' of Red-tailed Hawk
with a breeding range in the American Prairies. A library or web search
would add more information.

At 4 PM the hawk was circling southwest from just north of Lakeridge Rd and
Hwy 2. It had been perched on a fencepost but was driven off by blackbirds.
There is a Lawrence's Warbler singing as a Blue-winged at Glen Major Forest.

Hello All,

Pete searched for the female McCown's Longspur under foggy, cold, and windy
weather conditions beginning at 6:00am this morning. He checked the lagoon
grasses and the two acre grassy area at the baseball diamonds. The airport
is two to three kilometres away and, since he is on foot, he was not able to
check that area at this time. He will continue to search for the bird while
completing his field work.

He will call me if he spots the bird and I will post it immediately. See
June 22 posting for visiting parameters.
