Hi All, I know this posting is late but I wanted to check on the
ONTBIRDS rules around posting this rare nester in Ontario.

We arrived at Rondeau on Saturday evening and after setting up the tent
headed to the Visitor Centre, we began walking down the Harrison Trail,
south from the parking lot, and at about 9:15pm the bird began calling.
We continued to walk south and it sounded like the bird was about 300m
south of the parking lot and in the woods about 50m to 100m from the
trail. The bird called quite continuously until we left it at 10:00pm.
The bird could be heard decently from the Parking Lot itself.

Also, of note was a singing male Northern Parula at the corner of the
fenced-in maintenance area nearest the RV Sanitation area, not sure
about this species nesting this far south, is it possible that it was a
lingering migrant? Strange. Of course, the Prothonotary Warblers were
found along the Tulip Tree trail at the slough with the nest boxes and
sign. Otherwise, bird song was very quiet on Sunday morning.

Cheers & good birding,
Frank Pinilla
