Hello Fellow Birders,

Yes, a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, or as some refer to it as "the Texas bird of paradise," was perched on the fence on the north side of Lakeshore Rd. The bird's most notable feature, his deeply forked tail -nine inches long which identified him as the mail- which he opened and closed, scissors-style, while taking off in flight was a beautiful sight to behold at 9:00 P.M. this evening.

Directions: Take # 440 exit by Newcastle on Mill St. from Highway # 401 and drive as far as you can to the lake and turn east to drive along the Lakeshore Rd. almost as far as Morgans Rd.
