The 2nd Annual Little Gull Viewing Week-end will be held on Saturday and
Sunday, 23 & 24 April 2005, at Oshawa Second Marsh (O2M) from sunrise
to approximately 10:00 AM each day. Oshawa Second Marsh is reputed to
be the most predictable location in North America to see Little Gulls in
the spring. Over the last three years, anywhere from 40+ to 100+ Little
Gulls have been observed on this week-end from the O2M Viewing Platform
Last year we had a good turnout of birders as well as Little Gulls.
Let's try for the same in 2005. Leaders at the Viewing Platform will be
Chip Weseloh, Richard Joos and Tyler Hoar.
Directions: Take Hwy 401 towards Oshawa. Exit
the 401 at Harmony Road (Exit # 419). Go south on Farewell Ave .
(about 2-3 blocks) to Colonel Sam Drive and turn left. Follow this road
until just before the General Motors headquarters. Turn right into the
parking lot just before the Headquarters ; park in the west lot, near
the marsh . As you face the lake, the viewing platform is just west of
the parking lot , down and to your right .
