Hi Everyone;
A somewhat cool day along the waterfront at Bronte this afternoon, with
only a few interesting birds about. The spring plumaged EARED GREBE was just
west of Bronte Harbour, 2 HARLEQUIN DUCKS on the inner breakwall (as reported
by Gavin Edmonstone earlier today), 1st year GLAUCOUS GULL and a pair of
ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS also in the harbour. Just north over the Lakeshore Road
bridge at Bronte Creek were 33 BLACK-CROWN. NIGHT HERONS in Bronte Marsh.
Directions; Take the QEW in Oakville and exit at Bronte Road, go south all the
way to the lake, you'll end up in the Harbour.

This is one bird I can miss if I don't visit the Carden Alvar later in
the season.
We saw two Upland Sandpipers today in a wet plowed field on the 10th
Concession beside the Dofasco Trail. The birds were from the road as
well. North of the trail, east of the road.
Directions from 50 Road and Queen Elizabeth Way. Travel south on 50
Road to the top of Escarpment at the first road Ridge Road turn right
(west) and travel to the first left 10 Concession. Go south about .5
kilometers. The birds were in the field on the left just before the
railway tracks.
