Birders, Today at around 1:30pm I found an adult Shrike just north of Waterloo, near the town of Hawkesville. I was able to get good pictures of the bird as it was flycatching along the road. After consulting with Ron Pittaway, he and I are 100% positive that it is indeed a Loggerhead Shrike.
Directions: from Elmira travel west on Hwy. 86 to Wallenstein, turn left (South) on Hergott Road to Temperance Road. (first road on left), the bird was just past the first farm along the fenceline. Drive slowly as the bird was often foraging along and even on the road at times. Good birding, Kenny Burrell Heidelberg, Ont.
