The rain and warm temperatures yesterday brought quite a few species back to
the area. Flooded fields are filling with Mallards, Ring-necked Ducks,
Northern Shovellers, Northern Pintails, and Canada Geese. Bufflehead, Common
and Hooded Mergansers can be found on inland creeks and rivers that have opened
up. There are Tundra Swans in the field off Bruce Road 3 just south of
Burgoyne. Turkey Vultures and Northern Harriers are floating over the fields
and an Eastern Phoebe is flycatching outside my window as I work.

Good birding,
Cindy Cartwright

(See yesterday's e-mailings about the snow geese in Eastern Ontario)

A few photos from yesterday's fly-past of snow geese in the Long Sault area
can be found at:

If you are on a dial-up connection, get yourself a cup of large cup of
coffee and view the "small" versions of the images, if on-high speed, view
the "large" versions.

Long Sault Parkway starts just east of Ingleside off Highway #2, in the
Morrisburg-Cornwall area.
