On Saturday March 19th at approximately 5:50pm, I saw a Snowy Owl in the Arthur
area. It was located one line over from where Thomas Crook reported one on
Thursday -about 200m south of the junction of Third Line and Sideroad 30. It was
in a field east of Sideroad 30, south of the farm sheds, sitting in the top of a
shrub in a sparse hedgerow. It was pretty far into the field (approx. 500m?)but it
dove into the field a few times after its dinner. This area is East of Hwy 6
& South of Hwy 9(109). Sideroad 30 does not reach Hwy 6. Take sideroad 21 or
Sideroad 9 off
Hwy 6.

There also MAY have been a Great Gray Owl in the area as well-it was flying
over County Road 17 just east of Alma, between 14th and 16th Line, before you
reach Highway 6. I didn't get a good look at it, but its sheer size and flight
pattern suggested Great Gray...or maybe that was just my desperate hoping
that's what it was:)
