Of late- 4 different woodpeckers, both Nuthatches, white-throated sparrow, swamp sparrrow, song sparrow and lingering tree sparrows, juncos, cardinals, robin, red-winged blackbirds, cowbirds, blue jays etc. There may be as many as 8 Great Gray Owls in the vicinity, but they are very unpredictable as to when they may show themselves-- Shoal Pt. Rd., Lakeridge Rd. and Hall's Rd.--probably be there before 7:30a.m. or at duck. There may be as many 4 Barred Owls between the Lynde woodlot and Hall's Rd. Today/Friday a Barred kept himself busy flying down to take a vole and going right at a Red Squirrel in the spruce tree at the north path entry. Patience is needed to see a T-n Pheasant-- as many as 3 males and 2 females have been seen at various locations along Hall's Rd.--my favourite being at the north path feeding station. Exit the 401 at #404-Salem Rd., south to Bayly, east to the first traffic light--south down Shoal Pt., below the first stop sign; further along Bayly you will come to Lakeridge and then Hall's Rd.
