At almost exactly 3:00 PM today , my brother Randy and i were driving east on
Oak street in Leamington en route to Hillman Marsh, when we suddenly observed
the Gyrfalcon flying just north of OAK STREET , west of Hillman Creek . The
bird was flying northwest about 50 feet above the fields, before heading north
over a woodlot.We gave chase but were unable to relocate it. Hopefully, it will
return.I want better, closer looks !

Several people have emailed me to say that, although not as likely to be
seen as a week ago, there are still GGOs around in southwest
Whitby/southeast Ajax. It apppears that just before dark is the most likely
time, along Shoal Pt. Rd. or Hall's Rd. One or two have been seen along both
streets on some early mornings.
There are still 2 Barred Owls-- one, on occasion, in Lynde Shores bird
feeder trail, one near the entry to the north pathway from Hall's Rd., but
patience is required .
Mar.9--N.Shrike--top end of Hall's Rd., along with 3 Red-tailed hawks;
Red-bellied Woodpecker near the suet feeder at the north pathway entry.

Exit the 401 at Salem Rd. (Ajax), south to Bayly, east to the first light
(Shoal Pt. Rd.) or continue on through LakeRidge Rd. to the first street
east (Hall's Rd.)
