I apologize for some clumsy cutting and pasting; the directions in the
following item from my previous report should read as follows:

Feb. 25, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm just south and west of the intersection of The
Thomas Dolan Parkway and the Fifth Line
One GGO very close to the road
Directions: From Ottawa travel westbound on Hwy. 417 to the March Rd./Eagleson
Road and exit right onto March Road. Follow March Road northwest 8.0 km to
stoplight and 90 degree lefthand turn which is the junction of the March Road
and the Dunrobin Road. Turn right onto Dunrobin Road and proceed northwest 7.5
km to Thomas Dolan Parkway at Dunrobin. Turn right or northeast on Thomas
Dolan Parkway and proceed almost to the Fifth Line where we have frequently
spotted a GGO near the intersection and very close to the parkway. Turning
left or southwest on the Thomas Dolan Parkway and proceeding 4.3 km to
Stonecrest Road takes you to a good starting point for birding the Carp Ridge
on Thomas Dolan Parkway.

Feb.26 -wonderful views of 5 Great Grays along Hall's Rd. for many
        very early AM visitors

In spite of a Saturday morning ground fog Hall's Rd. in southwest Whitby had
up to 50 cars and a masterfully-driven snow-plough on it before 7:30a.m.

The Barred Owl sat high in a tree alongside the north pathway for an hour.
I counted 5 Great Gray Owls, flying from perch to perch and low over the
ground, before going of for the day before 8a.m.

We suspect that, as long as there is plenty of prey, there is no reason for
the owls to leave.

I have enjoyed meeting so very many visitors, and I do feel that the past 2
months has provided a wonderful educational experience for people of all
ages.
In addition, allow me to express thanks to Karl, Del, Eleanor, Ron and any
others who supply the feed for the many songbirds at the north pathway.

Hall's Rd. is entered from Victoria St. in southwest Whitby.
