Hello all,
A leisurely drive west of Port Hope this evening around 5:30 yielded a
hunting Great Gray Owl for my father (Lee Horner) and I. We witnessed it
taking a vole, on Lakeshore Rd at the west side of Port Britain (right across
from the Port Britain sign). Also within a quarter mile or so was a Red Tailed
Hawk, Rough Legged Hawk, and a small flock of ~20 snow buntings. A detour on
the way back to check for the Hawk Owl at Welcome proved unsuccessful, perhaps
a little late to see it.

Directions.
From heading south into Port Hope on Hwy 2, at the stoplights turn right
(west) onto Lakeshore Rd, and follow it for 5-10km until you get to Port
Britain. The owl was directly across from the Port Britain sign on the west
edge of the town (village?).
