I was owling on the Kilmaurs Side Road yesterday afternoon when I saw a
rental van parked by the side of the road just as I saw the owl. I stopped
just ahead of the van to take a look and, a few minutes later, the owl flew
just over my car, swooped down in front of the van and flew up into a tree
a couple of hundred feet into the bush across the road. As the van started
to empty out it's 8+/- passengers, I asked one if he was their pet. The
woman said that they had bought a "feeder mouse" at a pet shop and were
feeding the owl.
This is the first time I have witnessed this spectacle. Any comments about
advisability?
