Visited Amherst island yesterday despite blowing snow. No raptors seen outside the woods whatsoever. 2 Boreal owls were located in the cedars, one just passed the feeders on the left and the other further still on the right. After a thorough check of the woods all we got was a possible long-eared (flushed). County rd. 14 yielded 3 Great Greys, two of which provided fantastic views from inside the car. Great pics of both species, if anyone would like to see them just email me.

Amherst Island:
Hwy. 401 exit 593 and go south on County Road 4 about 10 Km to Milhaven.
Turn right onto Hwy. 34 and the ferry dock is on the left. The ferry leaves
every hour on the half-hour and leaves Amherst every hour on the hour.
