Hi Everyone
Birded Amherst Island yesterday, January 15th, and saw the 2 Boreal
Owls. Did a walk out to the gravel bar at the easr end and had a good number
of puddle ducks including 520+ Gadwall, 4 American Wigeon, 4 Northern
Pintail and a Snowy Owl. Drove most of the roads on the island during the
afternoon and didn't see any hawks except for 2 Rough-legged at the east end
KFN property. Saw another Snowy Owl at the west end of the island and at
dusk 5 Short-eared Owls hunting over the fields opposite the KFN property.
Today, January 16th, birded Wolfe Island for the morning,
highlights included 3 Snowy Owl, 1 Merlin, 3 Northern Harrier, 2 Bald Eagle,
41 Tundra Swan, 35 Snow Bunting and 50+ Common Redpoll. At the DuPont Plant
lagoon 6 American Coots were present.
Got back to Ottawa in time to spent 45 minutes checking for Great
Gray's at March Valley Road and Dunrobin/Kilmaurs Side Road, 24 owls. If you
require additional information please email me privately.

                                                        good birding
