At 9:00 this morning we had 3 female King Eiders at Sayers Park in Stoney Creek. It was nice to observe them in the same view with the female Surf Scoters for comparison.

From QEW exit at hyway 20 and make sure to get on the North Service Rd. (on
the lake side of the QEW). Follow the service road east ujntil just past the Grays Rd. overpass and make your first left. Follow that road until the end (3 blocks) and turn right and the park is one block on your left; you might try going back two blocks and try off of Grays Rd., or go back on the service road and continue east to Greens road where they were seen recently.

An hour later, we had a male Brown Headed Cowbird (good for the winter list) at Valley Inn near the west end of Hamilton Harbour. It was at the feeders at the trail entrance at the bottom of the Laking Garden roadwithin view of the noisy bridge.

Directions: From the QEW hamilton bound, exit at Highway 6 north, go right at the first lights, right at the nest lights (Plains Rd.) and left at Valley Inn Road. cross both bridges and have a great day!

There was also an Iceland Gull and an unusual undra Swan at Lasalle Marina Hamilton Harbbour) which is at the foot of Waterdown Rd., easily accessed from Plains Rd. in Burlington. No Hamilton bound QEW exit for that stop.
