My daughter, her best friend and I saw at least 8 great grey owls along both sides of March Valley Road in the western end of Ottawa this afternoon. The owls were seen both west and east of Klondike Road along March Valley Road. We were there last weekend with no success so today was quite a treat - the girls really enjoyed it.

Terrie Smith and I saw the Sandhill Crane at Whitby Harbour [Pringle =
Creek] this morning.=20

Lynde Shores produced no owls, but a female Pileated Woodpecker was a =
nice consolation. Hall's Road had Barred, Great Horned and Great Grey =
Owl [one each].

Directions:

Pringle Creek - foot of Brock St. in Whitby.
Lynde Shores - go west from Brock St. on Victoria/Bayly St to where the =
large cattail marsh crosses the road and then left into the parking lot =
for Lynde Shores C.A.
Hall's Road is the first road west of Lynde Shores going south.

P.S. saw a neck banded Canada Goose at Port Hope Harbour yesterday - =
silver neck band with black=20
lettering: # 2K4X.
