Jacques Bouvier reporting for Christine Brunet, compiler of Vankleek Hill's 26th CBC. Forty species were observed on the December 19 count. This is a bit higher than the 25-year average of 37 species. This total may go up once a few unconfirmed species are looked at. Birds of note include Great Gray Owl and Belted Kingfisher.
DIRECTIONS TO THE GREAT GRAY OWL:
Head south on highway 34 through Vankleek Hill and turn west on Aberdeen and go to the end. The owl was last seen in the woodlot and adjacent fields north of Aberdeen where it meets Hunter.
