17 dedicated birders braved snow squalls, white- outs, poor visibility and temperatures of -17 degrees (-25 with wind chill) to participate in the Wiarton CBC. Several area roads were closed but they came anyway.
41 species were located including 3 new species for the count - Tundra Swan, Merlin and White- crowned sparrow. Numbers were very low for all raptors, waterfowl, and gulls. New low records were set for Rock Pigeon, Snow Bunting and House sparrow. Cindy Cartwright -
