Between 9 and 10a.m. Sunday morning, Dec.12, 2 of us were fixed on 3
Redpolls, 2 of which had no lateral streaking, very little /if any pink on
the breast and were noticeably whiter. Later in the morning as many as 30
Redpolls were seen feeding in the upper branches of a row of tall White
Birch trees paralleling the Hall's Rd.roadside north of the entry to the
south pathway. Sure enough 2 of them "stood out" from the others, and a few
more birders ID'd them as Hoary Redpolls.

Perhaps 20 more visitors came to see the Golden-crowned Sparrow-- to my
knowledge, in spite of the snow, he did not come out, even with the 3
White-throateds.

Hall's Rd. runs south from Victoria St., 1 block east of LakeRidge Rd., in
southwest Whitby.
