On Saturday, December 11th, approximately 11:30 a.m., a Golden Eagle and a
Turkey Vulture were seen flying south of the Visitor's Centre at Point Pelee.
The large flock of Robins and Cedar Waxwings near Blue Heron picnic area were
scanned by several birders over the course of the morning but no sighting of
either the Varied Thrush or the Bohemian Waxwing.

The Northern Hawk Owl is still hanging out in the same spot on the Bruce
Peninsula, near the hamlet
of Dyers Bay. It's very approachable and let me get some great photos today! Be
sure to view the
bird only from the road - all the surrounding lands are private.

In case you're interested, I posted one of the photos from this morning here:
http://www.ethanmeleg.com/hawkowl.htm

Directions: Take Highway 6 north up the Bruce Peninsula. Turn right (east) on
Dyers Bay Road and go
2.1km to the junction of McNair Road. The bird is often on the wires around
this junction, and
sometimes perches on bushes in the surrounding meadows.

Happy birding,
Ethan Meleg (Tobermory)
