Sorry for the late posting of this sighting.
At 12:30 PM Wednesday Dec. 8, while with a group for the Guelph Field Naturalists, a Male Barrow's Goldeneye was found associating with a mixed group of Common Goldeneye and Scoters. The bird was swimming about 100m offshore from a small parkette located at the foot of Drakes Rd. where it ends at Lakegate Rd. The parkette is visible to the right of the Drakes/Lakegate intersection. I could not age the bird, but it appeared to be adult in winter breeding plummage.

Directions to Barrow's Goldeneye.
From QEW exit at Fruitland Rd. Go north towards the lake and turn left onto North Service Rd. Follow North Service Rd. to Drakes Rd. (approx 1-2 km). Turn right on Drakes Rd. and follow
it to the end at Lakegate Rd. Parkette is ahead of you on the right.
